State of Georgia v. Jeffrey Scott Brooks

Outcome: Not Guilty All Counts
Description: Defendant charged with Felony Murder, Homicide by Motor Vehicle (1st Degree) and Homicide by Motor Vehicle (2nd Degree) when the vehicle he was driving collided with a motorcyclist who was fleeing from State Troopers in a high speed chase.

State of Georgia v. Gary Climan

Description: The trial jury took less than 15 minutes to decide what prosecutors couldn't figure out in three years - that Gary Climan was not guilty of Felony Vehicular Homicide and other charges related to the early morning collision between Mr. Climan's vehicle and a pedetrian walking on a lonely stretch of highway at 4:00 am in July 2005.

State of Georgia v. Tuan Tran

Description: Defendant Tran was acquitted of Rape and Kidnapping following a week-long trial with the jury's deliberations lasting less than one hour. Mr. Tran, who was in fact innocent, is a legal Vietnamese immigrant who lost all that he had after being falsely accused of the sexual assault of a customer at his nail salon.

State of Georgia v. Renaldo Phelps

Outcome: Not Guilty verdict
Description: This was a DUI trial where the defendant was accused of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol to the extent that it was less safe for him to drive. The defense was able to conclusively show that he had consumed no alcohol for several hours prior to driving. In addition, the arresting officer failed to properly administer the field sobriety tests. The case originated when an ambulance driver reported a green car driving poorly. The arresting officer testified that the car in question was driven by the defendant. The defendant's car, however, was blue. The defendant was convicted only of having an open container of alcohol and failing to maintain his lane of travel.

State of Georgia v. Charles Emmerson Williams

Description: Armed Robbery case where the defendant was alleged to have been among a large group of other young men who robbed a family outside their apartment building. The defendant was able to demonstrate that he was not present at the scene of the robbery and was found not guilty following a week-long trial.

State of Georgia v. Montrell Hooks

Practice Area: Criminal Defense
Date: Oct 1, 2008
Outcome: Not Guilty on all counts.
Description: Defendant was charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Posession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. Mr. Hooks was found "Not Guilty" by a jury following a seven-day trial after Mr. Holloway investigated and developed evidence that his client had an alibi and therefore could not be guilty of the charges against him. Mr. Holloway was successful in discrediting the testimony of witnesses for the State.
